Choosing Specialty Frames for Pictures:

Guest Blog Post: Choosing Specialty Frames for Pictures: The Difference It Makes

After peering through a few websites regarding mirrors and frames, you seem unimpressed. You see the typical gimmicks: wood frames, square frames and even oval frames. Nothing jumps out at you and nothing seems to make you want to pull out your credit card and buy something. You try a different approach: you go to a special store selling mirrors and frames hoping the owners will have something that will “wow” you. Still, you find yourself unimpressed by the product lines that store offers. Some people want to convey a specific tone with a frame and even the glass, which is why some choose certain shapes, styles and colors to encase a picture with.

Specialty Frames

You want something original. You want people to look at a frame with a mirror and say, “wow, now that is something you don’t see every day.” Sure, oval frames are nice, but they tend to be a bit generic for people who want to stand out. You may want to place a picture or item inside the frame and want something original that people hardly see anywhere. For example, a hexagonal or octagonal frame is perfect for a large portrait or even for a landscape drawing.

Avoiding Design Blunders

Everyone is looking for fresh new ideas for the hottest new trends and styles for home improvement or interior design. However, how does a homeowner avoid those awful design blunders without going through trial by errors?  A great way to start is with reading design magazines, such as Interior Design or Architectural Digest. Also, you can visit design websites such as Houzz.com, HGTV.com, Martha StewartLiving.com and a host of others.

Full disclosure, at Donco Designs, we love the Moen brand and use them in several commercial and

If you live in a Condo or have a home with a small kitchen, you do not have to settle for a cramped kitchen. With the right ktchen design and layout effectively using space, cabinetry and appliances, you can have a dream kitchen.

The Telegraph featured an article on kitchen spaces by the world renowned multi-use appliance maker Scholtès Multiplo. I was captivated by the design and style of the appliances so I visited the Scholtès website. The site took my breath away. The attention to detail of the appliances shoutted loud and clear that all appliances are not alike. Scholtès is in an elite class. Check out the site and see for yourself.

Organize your Kitchen with Flair

Since the kitchen is a popular place in in a home and is widely used for preparing food and entertaining, keeping it well organized is essential for maintaining balance and harmony. Keeping your kitchen well organized and your commonly used  kitchen accessories within reach at all times, helps to create a stress free area that is fun for cooking — and entertaining.

Try implementing these useful tips into your kitchen organization planning:

1. Adding a Dry Erase White Board can be a helpful tool to stay organized in the kitchen.

2. Adding shelves to store dishes and kitchen accessories helps keep these items on display. A low shelf beneath an island can hold holds large, heavy items, such as microwaves, pots, small kitchen appliances and books. Try adding an open shelf over the sink to store commonly used items.
